Richard Rizk is the senior lawyer at Rizklaw, an Oregon plaintiff personal injury & insurance, law firm he founded in 2001. A former insurance defense and coverage lawyer, Mr. Rizk now serves everyday people every day at Rizklaw. From 1996 to 2000 Mr. Rizk managed high exposure environmental litigation for Nationwide Insurance nationally from Chicago, Illinois. Before that, he defended Nationwide’s insureds in the context of personal injury and workers’ compensation claims.
Mr. Rizk is the oldest son of a surgeon and a psychiatric nurse. Mr. Rizk graduated with degrees in political science and advertising from Southern Methodist University in 1985. He graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School in 1988 and is licensed to practice law in Oregon, Illinois (inactive) and Federal Court (District Court of Oregon & 9th Circuit). Mr. Rizk graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1981.
Richard serves on the board of directors for South Portland Business Associationand Cascade Ski Club. Mr. Rizk coaches downhill ski racing for Oregon Special Olympics and serves as an advisor to Easter Seals (Oregon). “Rich” lives in southwest Portland, Oregon with his wife Jill and cats Justice and Mr. Wiggins.
Don Nash was born in Portland and grew up in various small towns in Tillamook County. After high school, Don joined the Army during the Vietnam conflict. After an Honorable Discharge, Mr. Nash continued his education with help from the Vietnam Veteran’s GI Bill, attending the University of Hawaii with a degree in Asian Studies. As a result of these experiences, Don speaks Thai fluently. Coming full circle, Don is now the very proud of father of an U.S. Army Colonel.
Don has over 30 years of paralegal experience helping deserving persons obtain the best possible outcome for their personal injury claims. He has advanced litigation support skills, and a deep understanding of medical terminology, surgical procedures and impairment ratings. Don loves his job and is appreciated for his positive outlook!
Paula Marx-Rush provides legal assistance support to the Rizklaw team. Paula is an Oregon native, born at the end of the Oregon Trail in Oregon City. She received a BS in Social Science from Portland State University and a Paralegal Certificate from the College of Legal Arts.
Paula’s love for research, interviewing and advocacy gelled during an Oregon Historical Society internship (Folklife Program) where she compiled educational materials from the 9 Confederated Tribes of Oregon for class room use by teachers and students.
Paula has two grown children and two Chihuahuas. She loves reading, writing, music, traveling, camping, hiking, photography, and making home movies. An empathetic heart, Paula really knows how to make clients feel welcome!
Jerome P. Larkin
Jerome P. Larkin is Of Counsel to RizkLaw. Mr. Larkin specializes in the administrative appeals of long-term and short-term disability claims, and litigation on these cases in U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals. A Chicago native, Mr. Larkin graduated from Northwestern University and then Lewis & Clark Law School.
Previously, Mr. Larkin was an associate at the Law Office of Robert E. Franz, Jr. in Springfield, Oregon, specializing in municipal and appellate law. Mr. Larkin worked for twenty years as a trial counsel, staff attorney and appellate counsel for SAIF Corporation in Portland and Salem, and also served as a special assistant attorney general during this time.
Mr. Larkin sings as a Second Tenor in the Portland Symphonic Choir, and serves as a cantor or staff singer at three churches in the Portland area.
