Today was a dangerous day on the roads of Portland. You would think that we would have some of the best drivers in the US due to the usual weather/road conditions here. Much of the year you can find slippery wet roads and if you head to the mountain you can find snow. But we remain lower than desirable on the safe driving list for US cities.
Be careful folks and let’s move up on the list!

Milwaukee Police respond to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on Hwy. 224
On 1/9/2019 at 10:52 am, Milwaukie Police responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on Highway 224 West-bound near the SE Lake Road exit. The crash involved a Multnomah County Corrections work crew performing work along the highway, and a Chevrolet Express work van.
Two work crew members, a 33-year-old male and 27-year old male were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One of the work crew members was ejected from the back of an ODOT truck and the other was struck while standing next to the vehicle, when the Chevrolet Express van crashed into the back of the ODOT truck. The driver of the Chevrolet work van (25-year-old Joseph Anaya) was uninjured. Mr. Anaya remained on scene and cooperated with the police investigation.
Mr. Anaya’s vehicle had severe front-end damage and had to be towed from the scene. Police determined Mr. Anaya was not impaired and he was cited for Careless Driving.
Milwaukie Police would like to remind drivers to slow down and move over one lane to the left to create a safe distance between disabled vehicles, work crews, and emergency vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road.
