GATES, OR – A man was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 22 E, the Salem Statesman-Journal reports.
The collision took place at about 7:12 a.m. when 48-year-old Matthew Chappell lost control of his vehilce for unknown reasons and drove off the freeway between Gates and Mill City.
Chappells vehicle traveled several hundred feet off the roadway and crashed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
